Settling In

Thanks to all those who commented and/or read our first post. We are excited to share this new adventure with all of you.

Our new apartment is good and feeling more like home every day. Since we just received the rest of our stuff we shipped yesterday, we are still settling in and putting everything away. So we'll share some photos of our apartment from the day we arrived as well as some pictures from around the city. We have hardly begun to explore so many more photos and stories will be coming in the future. But for now, here's a taste of our new home and surroundings.

Everything in the apartment is new, as you might be able to tell from the labels and wrappings being on everything.

The kids were excited to find out that there is an indoor playground with trampolines in our building. It's not exactly heated, but it is warmer than outside.

This is the door of my office at school, in three languages (English, Russian, and Kazakh).

Here are some photos of the city so far. The pyramid is the "Palace of Peace and Reconciliation" - also known as the opera house and other things. It is right across the street and we have a cool view from our apartment.

It took a bit longer than we expected for the kids to get over the jetlag and time change, but we did it and are feeling much more settled.
